BoBo and Friends ("the App", "we", "us") is an English learning app for children ages 3 to 12, created by BoBo Kids. We take children's privacy seriously and have designed this app to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.
1. Information We Collect
Information we collect from the device only:
- Learning progress (grade, coins earned, items in trophy room, quiz scores) — stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. Never sent to our servers.
- Avatar choices (character name, hair color, hat) — stored locally on your device.
- Selected grade level — stored locally on your device.
Information sent to our servers when used:
- Voice recordings (only during speaking practice features): Audio is sent to our speech-recognition service (Cloudflare Workers AI / OpenAI Whisper) to convert speech to text. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored after the response is returned.
- Conversation text (only during AI conversation practice): The child's typed or transcribed messages are sent to our AI tutor service (OpenAI or Cloudflare Workers AI) to generate a friendly reply. Conversations are not stored beyond the current session.
- Email address (only if a parent enters one on the subscription page): Used solely to notify the parent when premium content (Grade 2 and above) becomes available. Never sold or shared with third parties.
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect children's names, real photos, addresses, phone numbers, or birth dates.
- We do not use cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
- We do not display ads of any kind.
- We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID).
- We do not track location.
- We do not access contacts, photos, or files outside the app.
2. Microphone Permission
The app requests microphone access only when the child taps a "Speak" button. The microphone is active only during the practice activity and is released immediately afterward. Audio is sent to our speech-to-text provider to give learning feedback. We do not record or store audio.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide English learning activities, games, and feedback.
- To save the child's learning progress on their device so they can continue later.
- To respond to AI-powered conversation practice in real time.
- To notify a parent (only if they entered their email) about new premium content.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate the app. None of these services receive personal information identifying the child.
5. Parental Rights
Parents can:
- Review the data their child generated by opening the app on the same device (Profile → Settings).
- Delete all learning progress at any time by clearing the app data (Android: Settings → Apps → BoBo → Storage → Clear Data; or inside the app: Profile → Reset).
- Request deletion of a submitted email address by emailing us (see Contact below). We will remove it within 30 days.
- Choose not to give microphone permission. The app still works without speaking practice.
6. Data Retention
- Voice audio: not retained (real-time processing only).
- Conversation text: not retained beyond the current session.
- Email addresses: retained until the parent requests deletion or the subscription service is discontinued.
- Local device data: stays on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls.
7. Children Under 13
BoBo and Friends is intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from a child without verifiable parental consent (specifically, the parent voluntarily entering an email on the subscription screen). If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Local data is stored using the device's built-in browser storage.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change. Material changes will be announced inside the app.

- 選擇的年級 — 僅儲存於您的裝置。
使用時傳送至伺服器的資訊：
- 語音錄音（僅在口說練習功能中）：音訊會被傳送至我們的語音辨識服務（Cloudflare Workers AI / OpenAI Whisper）以轉換成文字。音訊為即時處理，回應後即不會儲存。
- 對話文字（僅在 AI 對話練習中）：孩童輸入或語音轉錄的訊息會傳送至 AI 家教服務（OpenAI 或 Cloudflare Workers AI）以產生友善的回覆。對話不會在本次工作階段之外保存。
- 電子郵件地址（僅當家長在訂閱頁面主動輸入時）：僅用於在進階內容（二年級以上）可用時通知家長。絕不出售或分享給第三方。
我們「不」收集的資訊：
- 不收集孩童的姓名、真實照片、地址、電話號碼或出生日期。
- 不使用 Cookie 或第三方廣告追蹤器。
- 不顯示任何廣告。
- 不收集裝置識別碼（IDFA、Android Advertising ID）。
- 不追蹤位置。
- 不存取通訊錄、相片或應用程式外的檔案。
2. 麥克風權限
應用程式僅在孩童點擊「說話」按鈕時要求麥克風存取權。麥克風只在練習活動進行時啟用，活動結束後立即釋放。音訊傳送至我們的語音轉文字服務以提供學習回饋。我們不會錄製或儲存音訊。
3. 我們如何使用資訊
- 提供英語學習活動、遊戲與回饋。
- 將孩童的學習進度儲存於裝置上，方便繼續使用。
- 即時回應 AI 對話練習。
- 通知家長（僅當家長輸入電子郵件時）新的進階內容。
4. 第三方服務
我們使用下列服務來運作應用程式，這些服務皆不會收到可識別孩童身分的個人資訊。
5. 家長權利
家長可以：
- 在同一裝置上開啟應用程式（個人資料 → 設定）查看孩童產生的資料。
- 隨時刪除所有學習進度，方法為清除應用程式資料（Android：設定 → 應用程式 → BoBo → 儲存空間 → 清除資料；或在應用程式內：個人資料 → 重設）。
- 透過電子郵件（見下方聯絡方式）要求刪除已提交的電子郵件地址。我們將於 30 天內移除。
- 選擇不授予麥克風權限。沒有語音練習，應用程式仍可正常使用。
6. 資料保留
- 語音音訊：不保留（僅即時處理）。
- 對話文字：本次工作階段結束後不保留。
- 電子郵件地址：保留至家長要求刪除或訂閱服務終止。
- 本機裝置資料：保留至使用者清除應用程式資料或解除安裝。
7. 13 歲以下兒童
BoBo and Friends 專為 13 歲以下兒童設計。沒有取得可驗證家長同意（具體而言，家長在訂閱畫面自願輸入電子郵件），我們不會在知情情況下收集兒童的可識別個人資訊。如果您認為我們無意中收集了此類資訊，請聯絡我們，我們將予以刪除。
8. 安全性
應用程式與伺服器間傳輸的所有資料皆採用 HTTPS/TLS 加密。本機資料儲存於裝置的內建瀏覽器儲存空間。
